COMBINE AREAS OF ENHANCEMENT
AND TESTING
Combine tests are highlighted below.
Combine Testing
Vertical Jump
Equipment Used: Vertec. Solid metal base, standing upright, and colored vanes spaced ½" a part and will
rotate when touched for easy measurement.
Technique Allowed: Jumping off of two feet. Athlete will start directly below the unit. When the athlete leaves
the ground he will have to leave from directly below the unit and off of two feet. The athlete's best score out
of three tries will be recorded on the athlete's Player Profile.
Bench Press
Equipment Used: Hosting site will provide a standard bench and weights.
Technique Allowed: Each athlete will have the choice and the opportunity to choose which weight they will lift
for a maximum number of repetitions. The athlete will be able to choose from 155lbs or 185lbs. The athlete
will only have one opportunity to achieve a maximum number of repetitions. Each repetition will count only if
the athlete touches the bar to his chest and then extends his arms completely. The athlete will also have help
getting the bar off and back on to the rack. Both weight and number or repetition will be recorded and then
presented on the athlete's Player Profile.
Pro Agility Run
Equipment Used: SPARQ Electronic Timer.
Technique Allowed: The athlete will start in an athletic, defensive position. Once they move from the sensors
to the left the time clock will start. The athlete will run 5-yards and touch the line with one hand. Then the
athlete will turn and run 10-yards the other way and touch that line with one hand. Finally, the athlete will turn
again and run though the center sensors as quickly as possible. The athlete's best score out of two tries will
be recorded on the athlete's Player Profile.
40 yd Dash
Equipment Used: SPARQ Electronic Timer
Technique Allowed: Athlete will begin behind the starting line where he will be in a track runner/block stance.
Either his right or left hand will be placed on the ground on the touch release button. Once the athlete's hand
is released from the button the timer starts. Then athlete will run in a straight line through the two sets of
sensors. The athlete's best score out of two tries will be recorded on the athlete's Player Profile.
3 Cone
Equipment: 3 Cones, Stop Watch.
Technique Allowed: The cones are placed 5 yards apart and placed in an inverted "L" position. The athlete
will start in a three/two point stance. He will sprint from Cone A to Cone B and then back to Cone A. Then he
will sprint around the outside of Cone B towards the inside of Cone C. The athlete will go around Cone C and
back to the outside of Cone B on the way to the finish line at Cone A. Technique Allowed: Each player will get
two attempts with the best of the two times being recorded. If the player slips, falls or fails to run the
sequence in the proper order they will get to restart without penalty. The player must not knock any of the
cones over. Time will begin on first movement and end when the player crosses the finish line. The time will
be recorded to the nearest hundredth second.
Anthropometric Measurements
Equipment Used: A calibrated physicians scale will be used to measure the athlete's weight and height.
Technique Allowed: The athlete's weight will be measured while only wearing shorts and his combine T-shirt.
His weight will be recorded to within a half pound. The athlete's height will be measured when the athlete is in
